Thank You to all of you who participated in the 2nd Annual Steve Lewis Volleyfest. It was a great success and was fun for all of the participating teams. STEVE WOULD BE PROUD TO SEE THAT WE ARE KEEPING HIS SPIRIT ALIVE!!!!

Varsity Reminder:

Pasta Night at the Bender's house starting at 6:00. Please bring something to drink or a dessert.


Thank You to the Bender's for their graciousness of letting us come over for dinner.

We need doations for the following:

Hot Dogs with buns
Candy (M&M's, Snickers, Skittles etc.)
12 pack of sodas (Sprite, Coke, Pepsi, Root Beer etc.)
Frozen Chicken
Chips (Tortilla and Fritos)


Please bring items to school on Friday or Saturday around 10:00 so we can set it up.

We still need parent volunteers to help work the doors because we are going to charge $2.00 a person for this fundraising event. Email Coach Wadley with any questions.

The JV and Varsity are required to be at Lakewood at 10:00 and stay there until 3:00. Frosh/Soph will be there at 3:00 and stay the duration and cheer during the Varsity match at 6:00 vs. Poly.

Due to the district wide testing on Tuesday, Mondays and Tuesdays practice will be held at 4:00 in the Main Gym for ALL THREE teams. FS and JV will share a court with Varsity on the other. We will breakdown and setup the tables before and after practice. Please pass all of the information on!!!

We have added an additional game to the Volleyfest on Friday October 20th. FS and JV will play Poly again for another game. Both games will be held in the Main Gym with FS starting at 3:00 and JV at 4:00.

There will be a MANDATORY Varsity meeting on Monday during 6th period. We have much to discuss.

If any players (including Varsity) tryout for a club team and gets hurt they will be ineligible for the rest of the season. I understand how important it is to get on a good club team but it is also important that we finish the season strong.

Due to the 10th grade testing the gyms will be unavailable next week for the Jordan contest at Jordan. The game has been moved to Wednesday the following day at Jordan at 4:30 for FS and JV and 5:30 for Varsity. I will let you all know when the busses leave on Wednesday the 18th.

We will be taking our teams to Poly on Thursday. Let's make this a great week.

Congratulations to the Varsity for defeating Wilson in an exciting 5 game match yesterday. This was the first time that Wilson lost in a league match in 4 years. Last year they did not even lose a game so this was tremendous for us! We have Compton and Cabrillo on Thursday and Tuesday and then we travel again to Poly next Thursday so get the crowds there to cheer us on!
